As we all know, tempered glass forms compressive stress on the glass surface through chemical or physical methods, and its strength is far superior to that of ordinary glass.

However, if it is not used properly or lacks maintenance, tempered glass will also have the risk of bursting and breaking. Today, let’s talk about how to maintain tempered glass!

Maintenance and maintenance skills of tempered glass

01

Focus on protecting the corners of tempered glass

The middle part of the tempered glass partition is relatively strong, and the four corners are relatively weak, so the protection of the corners is particularly important. The safety hammering position marked on the window glass of the bus is just at the corner of the glass, which also utilizes the characteristic of tempered glass.

02

Avoid keeping tempered glass under pressure for a long time

Try not to place heavy objects on the tempered glass surface for a long time, to avoid the pressure value reaching the critical point and causing breakage. The general tempered glass bears a pressure between 70mpa and 100mpa. This pressure multiplied by the stress area of the glass is the maximum pressure it can withstand.

03

Tempered glass partition with explosion-proof film

Some tempered glass needs to be manually affixed with explosion-proof film to prevent the fragments from flying randomly when the glass self-explodes. When choosing an explosion-proof film, try to choose an explosion-proof film that has been certified and qualified to produce safety film.

04

Ensure even heating

In some extreme conditions, if high temperature and low temperature are respectively applied to both ends of a piece of glass, then this piece of glass is very easy to self-explode. For example, if you pour cold water on a lighted incandescent lamp, the glass of the incandescent lamp will break. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the glass is heated evenly.

05

Keep away from acid and alkali substances

Glass is essentially silicon dioxide (SiO2), which reacts chemically when it comes into contact with substances such as sodium hydroxide and hydrofluoric acid.

06

Watch out for sharp objects

Although tempered glass is very strong, the contact points of sharp objects exert a relatively high pressure on the glass. Once scratched and impacted, the glass is easily subjected to a large external force and slightly cracked.

Cleaning tips for tempered glass

1 ►Wet towel ✚Newspaper

In daily cleaning, wet towels can remove most stains on tempered glass, and newspapers can remove water stains. Stubborn stains can be removed with a towel dipped in beer or warm vinegar, or with glass cleaner. It should be noted that do not use strong acid and alkali solutions for cleaning. In addition, the surface of the glass is prone to frost in winter. At this time, it can be wiped with a cloth dipped in concentrated salt water or white wine, and the effect is better.

2 ►Cling film

Oily glass can be a pain to clean, but all it takes is a piece of plastic wrap and a damp rag to bring glass back to life. Spray the glass with cleaning agent and stick a piece of plastic wrap to soften the solidified oil stains. After ten minutes, tear off the plastic wrap and wipe it with a damp cloth. It will be as smooth as new without leaving any traces.

If there is oily handwriting on the glass, rub it with an eraser soaked in water, and then wipe it with a damp cloth to completely remove the traces of the oily pen;

If it is painted, it can be scrubbed with cotton dipped in hot vinegar.

3 ► Fluoride-free toothpaste

Frosted glass and frosted glass with various patterns are deeply loved by everyone, but it is a troublesome thing to clean. To clean patterned frosted glass, use a toothbrush dipped in detergent or fluoride-free toothpaste and scrub the stained area. Do not use toothpaste that contains fluoride because fluoride can damage tempered glass.

4 ►Prevent mold

The surface of tempered glass needs to be kept clean to prevent mildew from contamination. If there are mildew spots, you can move it to a ventilated place, and use an electric iron for 2 to 3 minutes in the place with mildew spots until the mildew spots disappear.

5 ► Wipe off the tea in time

If tea and water fall on the glass surface, it should be wiped dry in time, otherwise very ugly water stains will be left after a long time. To remove these water stains, sprinkle some water, then wipe with tinfoil from the cigarette box, and finally scrub with water.

6 ►Stiff cloth ✚wax

If you accidentally drop a cigarette on the tempered glass, it will leave unsightly burning marks on the surface. You can wrap a hard cloth on the toothpick, gently wipe the burning marks, and then apply a layer of wax to remove them
